Contemporary Art
When classifying art within eras of history "contemporary art" refers to art being created today by living artists, while terms like "modern art" are used to refer to art created roughly from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century. In both cases there is not an overt distinction between ideas and the styles of each period, but rather we can consider contemporary art to be the continuation of art movements that followed the modern art period.
